For years, the stories of West African migrants and refugees have been told through the eyes of foreign journalists. Now there is a story told from the inside. Part road-trip, part autobiography, part journalistic investigation, "Revenir" follows Kumut Imesh, a refugee from the Ivory Coast now living in France, as he returns to the African continent to try to retrace the path he took when he had to flee his country's civil war... But this time, he does it with a camera in his hand. Travelling alone, Kumut will document his own journey from two angles: that of the main character in front of the camera, as well as that of the person behind the camera. Showing the human aspiration for freedom and dignity on one of the most dangerous migration routes in the world. A controversial film project, a courageous journey and a unique collaboration between filmmaker and refugee that is not without consequences.
